Real Herbs. Real Science. Zero Bullshit.

Stop chasing symptoms. Start connecting the dots.

I’m Amelia South, the No-BS Herbalist, and I help people understand what’s really going on when their body, habits, emotions, and old patterns seem to be working against them. Using clinical herbalism, nutrition, psychology, and a whole-person approach, we figure out where things started going sideways — and what actually needs to change.

Good news! Consultation appointments are now available in-person during my Clinic Hours in Woodstock on Mondays and Fridays. Click the button above to book.

You don’t need another generic wellness protocol.

You’ve Googled the symptoms. You’ve tried the supplements. Maybe you’ve changed your diet, bought the herbs, listened to the podcasts, or even worked with other practitioners.

And you’re still not where you want to be.

That’s because knowing what to take isn’t the same as understanding why you’re struggling.

In a private Consultation, we look at the whole picture — your health history, symptoms, food, gut, stress, habits, emotional patterns, and what’s happening in your life now — so we can start connecting dots that may have been treated separately for years.

Your body isn’t a collection of symptoms.

We look at systems and patterns instead of playing health whack-a-mole.

Knowing better doesn’t always mean doing better.

Sometimes the obstacle isn’t information. It’s the subconscious beliefs, habits, and emotional patterns running underneath your choices.

Plants are tools, not magic.

Herbs can be incredibly powerful. They also aren’t the answer to everything.

You need to understand YOU.

The goal isn’t lifelong dependence on me, supplements, protocols, or wellness gurus. It’s learning to recognize what your body and mind are telling you.

The Medicine Cabinet In Your Backyard

Your land is full of food and medicine—if you know where to look.

I teach Connecticut homeowners how to:

  • Identify nutrient-dense wild plants growing on their property
  • Harvest and preserve herbs for year-round wellness
  • Create effective remedies for common health concerns
  • Build confidence in working with plants safely
  • Cut through wellness myths and misinformation

This isn’t about going off-grid or rejecting modern medicine. It’s about reclaiming skills our grandparents knew—skills that give you more control over your health, your budget, and your connection to the land.

Four Ways to Get Started

Read: Think Like an Herbalist

Heal: Private Consultations

This is where we put the pieces together. We look at your symptoms, history, nutrition, gut health, stress, habits, and emotional patterns to understand what may actually be driving the problems you’re trying to fix.
No generic protocol. No one-size-fits-all answer.
We start with you.

About Amelia:

Ditch the Wellness Cult(ure). Heal with Real Science.

I’m a Clinical Herbalist, foraging instructor, author, and coach based in Connecticut. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been studying the relationship between plants, food, the human body, and the way we heal.

I’ve written five books, taught hundreds of people to forage safely, and helped clients understand what’s actually happening in their bodies instead of chasing symptoms, supplements, and the latest wellness trend.

My approach is simple: Combine traditional plant knowledge with modern science, look at the whole person, and question the bullshit we’ve been taught about health and healing.

Lasting change isn’t always about finding the right herb, sometimes it’s about your gut. Sometimes it’s your habits. Sometimes it’s stress, trauma, or beliefs you’ve been carrying since childhood. And sometimes you need someone who can help you connect the dots.

I’m not here to sell you miracle cures or tell you there’s one right way to heal. I’m here to help you understand yourself — body and mind — well enough to make better decisions about your health and your life.
