UPDATE: I have closed my Tincture Club as I am mostly focusing on topical remedies and am working on closing out my tincture stock. Message me if you need any!
What is a Tincture? A Tincture is a preparation of herbs and alcohol meant to be taken medicinally for various health benefits. A dose is usually anywhere from 1/2 dropper to 2 droppers full, under the tongue or in a glass of water.

I’ve been making medicinal tinctures for years. I take them regularly myself, I teach people how to make them, and I sell the extras from what I make myself. I have been doing this as part of my income and also so that I can help people heal and share the power of herbal medicine with them.
I must confess something very important that you should know: I don’t have an FDA-inspected facility to craft them.
My farm and business has gotten a lot of attention lately. I’m extremely proud of the fact that I have helped teach many people and helped them heal in various ways. I’ve helped people reduce or eliminate their physical pain, I’ve help some reverse their Type 2 diabetes, and I’ve helped some get relief from injuries or respiratory afflictions.
I have helped people, and I know it. I won’t apologize for that.

I will apologize if I have mislead you, however. I don’t have some special facility dedicated to created scientifically-blended and curated herbal remedies. I’m a folk herbalist with an excellent knowledge of local flora and cultivated plants who knows how to blend and craft handmade herbal concoctions.
These concoctions have helped me heal myself and deal with my own pain. And I’ve grown a huge customer base thanks to sharing them with people. If you’re one of the people who has bought multiple items from my Shop, THANK YOU. You are one of the reasons I keep doing what I do.
Here’s the problem: I’m becoming more popular. Some people might call that a wonderful thing. While I do like it a lot, more eyes and more attention to who I am and what I do also opens me to more scrutiny and the chance for someone to find fault with my methods. The last thing I want to do is hurt someone! The second to last thing I want to do is go to jail for trying to help people.
I’m working on moving all my oils, wax, and topical products into my new shed this week. That shed will serve as a manufacturing facility for the birch oil, injury healing salve, comfrey oil, and all the topical products you have come to love. As soon as it’s set up, I’m calling the state inspector to come by so I can get it fully licensed. That should happen this month.
However, getting licensed to craft tinctures (especially with my less-than-scientific, way too strong methodology) is far more difficult. So my solution is to simply stop selling them to the general public.
I know my business (and my income) is going to take a hit financially from this. But I’m hoping it will open up a new, smaller community of people whom I can serve and help more closely.
Therefore to you, dear reader, I open my new Private Tincture Buying Membership: the Tincture Club.
Yes, I’m still making herbal tinctures! I am reducing the number and variety of the herbal tinctures I’m making (I’m only one person and I simply can’t keep this up anymore) but my best-selling remedies are still available and waiting for you. But ONLY if you agree to sign a liability waiver.
I do my best to craft my handmade herbal tinctures in a clean environment and I only bottle in fresh new bottles. I make everything myself by hand from herbs that I either grow or forage for in the wild and I usually use organic alcohol whenever I can find it. If you’ve followed me on social media or YouTube at all, you know how good I am at my plant identification. I never work with herbs that are dangerous or potentially harmful.
But I do not want to be held responsible if someone is dumb enough to drink an entire bottle of a tincture. I also don’t want to be held responsible if someone gets an allergic reaction to a tincture. Everyone’s body is different and I can’t possibly know if YOUR body is going to be allergic to mullein or some other herb that most people are fine with taking.
I also want to weed out the people who take one of my remedies for a couple of days, decide that it doesn’t work, then give up and ask me for a refund. I am not Wal-Mart. I cannot absorb those costs like a big company can.

So here’s how Tincture Club works:
You join the membership for $25/year.
You will have 30 days from your initial sign up to sign and return the liability release form. I need this just in case you suddenly get upset with me about a remedy I made. You must agree that taking my tinctures is a risk you’re willing to accept for yourself. If you don’t return it within 30 days you’ll be removed from the membership and your access will be revoked.
The password to get in will change from year to year everyone will get an update when that happens. Each year you will get some sort of coupon upon renewal. I’m planning on keeping track of all this with a spreadsheet, so it can’t get too large. If I can find software to do this for me, or if you happen to know of a better way I can work this out, please let me know!
But here’s the coolest thing of all: By joining, you’re part of My Community.
That means any time I make a new tincture or want to experiment with a new herb or formula, YOU will be the first one notified. That gives you the option to decide if you want to try the new thing or not. You’ll also get occasional emails from me when I have some older stock I want to finish off. If you see 2 herbs that you’d like me to combine, you can send me a request and I’ll blend you a special tincture bottle!
Like I said, I know this move is going to lower my income for awhile. But what I really hope it does is build a small community of us from all over the country. People who want to heal themselves and fix their problems with nature rather than pills that have a dozen side effects.
If this announcement scares you, that’s totally fine. You are welcome to buy my Making Tinctures Safely PDF in my Shop so you can make your own remedies at home. I discounted the cost to better serve you and others. And you can still learn all kinds of stuff from me for free on my YouTube or TikTok.
If you are one of the dozens of people who have tried my products and loved them, YOU are why I am doing this. I still want to be able to help you.
I’m working out all the kinks this week and I’ll be launching Tincture Club by Friday. You don’t have to sign up right this second, and hopefully I can get the website to stop sounding like you’re joining Forager’s Shadow (that membership is closed.)
Let me know what you think, if you want to help, or if you have any other ideas I should know about. Just fill out the Contact Me form. I want to hear your thoughts!
I hope you read this entire post. It’s the next step and I truly want you to be part of it.
